Bad Juju // Saving Face

Bobby Lewis We're so happy to have these tunes out!

Bad Juju is partly a lament of bad luck that seems to follow us around from time to time and partly a slight at those of us who, like me, blame external factors for the short straws we get stuck picking sometimes, so to speak.

Saving Face sort of continues that same line of thinking—if things aren’t going great, curling up in bed and feeling sorry for ourselves is not going to solve those problems for us, as much we’d all like to believe it will.

Bad Juju 05:43
I I’m fizzling out here I’m losing my nerve I’m aching So I’m guessing this is what I deserve I’m just a shell now A shard of a shard Black clouds follow me around like bodyguards And it’s not getting better, no, no, no Passengers Get off the train An age-old sickness with a new-age strain I got a bad juju about me I can’t keep it contained I I’m petering out here What is the use? It can’t be karma anymore Cause I’ve paid my dues A perfect pariah Without any faults And I’ll blame a guardian devil for the results So it’s not getting better, no, no, no Passengers Get off the train Vengeful gods use their own names in vain Passengers Get off the train A shot of morphine with a shooting pain I got a bad juju about me It’s a landslide It’s the flood It’s a landslide It’s the flood It’s a landslide It’s the flood It’s a landslide

You’re under your covers Who’s crunching your numbers? Flames will only grow bigger At the snap of your finger I'll try to act like I've lost my way and beg for forgiveness Channeling finer days and minding my business If taking up space is my saving grace How could I worry myself with saving face? We’re safe in the masses Embers buried by ashes Age ain’t likely to fade Just ‘cause there’s a reaction does not mean there’ll be a change You’re lost in the numbers You’re lost in the numbers I'll try to act like I've lost my way and beg for forgiveness Channeling finer days Like praying for Christmas. If taking up space is my saving grace How could I worry myself with saving face?
